Support for Ukrainian Students in Fukuoka prefecture
Due to the war in Ukraine, many Japanese universities started to offer the support to students and researchers/scientists who were affected and had to leave the country or stop their normal studies/research. Among the university of Fukuoka prefecture, Kyushu University the largest and one of the most prestigious in Japan offers a relief program to students and researchers. The Japan University of Economics’ on the other hand has already accepted more than 60 students from the Kyiv National Linguistic University and students from Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Support program in Kyushu University (Fukuoka city, Fukuoka prefecture)
Eligibility: Students (undergraduates/graduates) and researchers who have difficulties to continue their studies/research due to the invasion by Russian forces.
Support summary: 1) Support to arrive at Japan: e.g. visa application procedures, financial support for travel expenses; 2) tuition fee exempltion; 3) Free housing; 4) 80,000 JPY/ monthly stipend; 5) Japanese language classes upon request.
