Association

We are Ukrainians living in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan

We began our activities to support Ukraine as part of the movement “Stand with Ukraine – Fukuoka”, in response to the war initiated by Russia.

To make our efforts more effective, we developed the idea of establishing a volunteer organization in Fukuoka Prefecture with three main areas of activity: cultural and public events, socio-economic support (assistance to refugees), and promotion of educational and scientific cooperation.

We are pleased to announce that the Ukrainian Association of Fukuoka Prefecture “UAFukuoka” was officially established on May 16, 2022.

The movement “Stand with Ukraine – Fukuoka” became a project of UAFukuoka, continuing its mission to support Ukraine through the organization of rallies, charity bazaars, and other public events.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Japan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Dr. Sergiy Korsunsky, congratulated the newly established Association and expressed their support for its long-term development.

From the congratulatory letter:

“The Embassy will be happy and proud to cooperate with UAFukuoka to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Ukrainian and Japanese peoples.”
